Psalm 103 is one of the great proclamations of praise and worship in the Scriptures. I have often used this simple chant as an congregational antiphon between the reading of the paragraphs of the psalm.

This piece is the first of four such pieces on “Broken, Gazing” in which I combine and opening chant with an instrumental. “Possible Answers” was originally released in a simpler form on the poetry and music collaboration, “Parable” that I recorded with poet, Scott Cairns. Wendy’s violin line was retained with the addition of a number of other musical elements including a wonderful guitar riff by Phil Madiera that begins in the second section of the piece.

The title takes it’s inspiration from a wonderful poem by Cairns entitled “Possible Answers To Prayer.”
